Clouds by Michael Sailstorfer
Through the transformation of everyday objects and materials, Michael Sailstorfer creates sculptural interventions, both in the gallery space and the public realm.
His work often explores flight, movement and displacement, and is infused with a poetic and humorous sensibility.
Large industrial tyre inner tubes of different sizes are inflated, twisted and bunched to create a cluster of simple, ‘cartoonish’ black rubber forms.
Based on a Grid by Esther Stocker: Artist Esther Stocker has built a disjointed grid of black blocks across the floor, walls and ceiling of Z33 – House for Contemporary Art in Hasselt, Belgium. The exhibition continues until 30 September 2012.
